Founded in 2010 by Jean-Paul Otto, Smarter Living began with a simple idea and a big dream. We’re not just creating wall sockets — we’re redefining the charging experience! Our passionate team is dedicated to transforming ordinary sockets into extraordinary solutions, blending creativity with a touch of whimsy.

Our award-winning, premium, and easy-to-install power USB outlets are designed by our in-house engineering team. We focus on the future of power outlets, smart solutions, and USB technology, delivering intelligent products that truly make a difference.

2010

THE BEGINNING

Smarter Living was founded by Jean-Paul Otto as a trading company for smart home products.

2014

KICK OFF

Recognizing a market opportunity, we began designing a German-style (Type F) side earthing socket outlet with a built-in 12W USB charger.

2016

INTRODUCTION 5501F

We launched the DEKRA-certified InCharge Pro 5501F, our very first in-house designed Schuko socket outlet featuring two USB-A ports and a built-in 10W charger.

2018

LET'S GO SMALLER!

This year marked the introduction of the InCharge Pro 5502F, the world’s first and only VDE-certified <32mm Schuko socket outlet with a built-in 12W charger and two USB-A ports. We also welcomed our first major OEM partnership and initiated our first white-label project.

2020

USB C? NO PROBLEM

As USB-C gained traction, we introduced the InCharge Pro 5503F, featuring a total output of 15W with one USB-A and one USB-C port, while maintaining the <32mm depth and VDE certification.

2021

DOUBLE C

This year marked the introduction of our third generation of socket outlets with USB, including the award-winning InCharge Pro CC 15W. This is the first fully certified sub-32mm Type F socket outlet with two USB-C charging ports.

2022

WE GO MODULAR

Recognizing a significant market opportunity for modular-style "45" socket outlets, we introduced the award-winning InCharge 45 C 18W.

2023

POWER TO THE PEOPLE

Another world’s first! We introduced the BigWatt 65W, a modular-style USB-C power cube with enough power to fully charge your laptop in no time.

2024

POWER-UP

Both the InCharge Pro AC and CC are now available with up to 20W charging power, supporting PPS and PD on the C-ports.
