Founded in 2010 by Jean-Paul Otto, Smarter Living began with a simple idea and a big dream. We’re not just creating wall sockets — we’re redefining the charging experience! Our passionate team is dedicated to transforming ordinary sockets into extraordinary solutions, blending creativity with a touch of whimsy.

2010

THE BEGINNING

Smarter Living was founded by Jean-Paul Otto as a trading company for smart home products.

2014

KICK OFF

Recognizing a market opportunity, we began designing a German-style (Type F) side earthing socket outlet with a built-in 12W USB charger.

2016

INTRODUCTION 5501F

We launched the DEKRA-certified InCharge Pro 5501F, our very first in-house designed Schuko socket outlet featuring two USB-A ports and a built-in 10W charger.

2018

LET'S GO SMALLER!

This year marked the introduction of the InCharge Pro 5502F, the world’s first and only VDE-certified <32mm Schuko socket outlet with a built-in 12W charger and two USB-A ports. We also welcomed our first major OEM partnership and initiated our first white-label project.
